palm-thatched cabanas - 109 rooms LOCATION: Macizo Guayanes in the Canaima National Park, Bolivar State. ROOMS: 115 cabins with private bath, hot water, medical assistance. FACILITIES: Almost 24-hour electricity, restaurant with panoramic view, bar-lounge decorated with Indian handicrafts, snack-bar by the lagoon beach, private and protected lagoon area for swimming, medical services. The only access is by air. this is one of the starting points for trips to the Angel Falls. In Canaima you can get to the Angel falls either by motorized dugout canoe or by air. There are various extra excursions included when you are resident at the Hoturvensa Lodge, to different falls. All meals are included.Also included is a over fly of the Angel Falls (highest in the world) by the famous DC3 if the weather permits it and a short trip round the lagoon by motorized canoe. Note that usually only double rooms are available, which makes it expensive if you are traveling on your own. Getting there: As option are internal flights from Caracas (1,5 hours) price $175 with the airline Avior. Flight leaves: Maiquetía - Canaima at 09.30 hours arriving at Canaima at 11:00 hours. Departure Canaima - Maiquetía: 12:45 arriving at Maiquetía national airport at 14:15 hours.
