Day 1: Caracas.
Upon your arrival you will be assisted at Maiquetia international airport. Transfer to the Ole Caribe hotel located on the seashore, some minutes away from the airport. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 2: Caracas - Orinoco Delta.
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Puerto Ordaz. welcome at the airport. Transfer to Piacoa, minutes later you will start enjoying the wild tranquility of the Orinoco River. The Orinoco, or father of the rivers, as is known in the Indian language is a world of islands, channels, mangroves and animal beauty as well as human. The communities are connected by the water which stands as the principal mean of transportation. The tour will take you to the inner side of the delta, on one on their private and deserted islands, not far from the place where the mighty river meets the Atlantic. Feeling in a once in a lifetime expedition you will get to places of unspoiled vegetation untouched by man. The Orinoco Delta area is known for being an important lung for the planet. Sailing along the channels as Sacupana and Merenjina you will have time not only to breathe in the atmosphere of the delta but to get in touch with the Indian communities of the Waraos. Arrival at the Tobé Lodge camp located just in front of the San Francisco Missionary station. Welcome cocktail including a typical lunch. Later on relax in the river lounge where you will enjoy the sunset with bird songs and sound of the Jungle. Visit to the San Francisco village, and late dinner.
Day 3: Islands of the Atlantic Ocean.
After breakfast, you will experience and witnessing the majestic handshake of the Orinoco river with the Atlantic Ocean.
In these limits of long forgotten island you will encounter Waraos Indians and their Communities. Walk across the dense jungle to observe the delta’s tropical forest. Picnic lunch. Visit the village of San Francisco de Guayo, a perfect time to admire the handcraft of the Indians. Enjoy the discovery of the jungle by night listening to the most amazing sounds you may even hear the howling of some monkeys, and the fanatics of adventure can go through the bayous for a crocodile night watching. Overnight
Day 4: Orinoco Delta.
Before breakfast have a canoe ride and observe birds or animals that approach the edge of the river. An experience you will never forget. River excursions. After that we will embark a motor boat to visit local Indians settlements, where you will be able to observe their way of living. Catch a piranha by yourself and be part of a truly unique experience. During the diner a group of Waraos Indians will be invited to show you their typical dance and songs in the very surprising full dress of their ancestors.
Day 5: Orinoco Delta - Puerto Ordaz.
After breakfast embark for the return trip to Piacoa. On the way we observe the natural and exotic way of life in this fabulous Delta having lunch on the way and reaching Piacoa in the early afternoon. Transfer to Ciudad Bolivar. Ciudad Bolivar is the ancient city of the Amazons. Free time in Puerto Ordaz, shopping etc... Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Puerto Ordaz – La Gran Sabana.
Departure from Puerto Ordaz. Before heading south to the Gran Sabana we'll stop at Cachamay Park located on the Caroni River a place with lush vegetation and water falls great for refreshing and for taking pictures. From here we'll continue to La Gran Sabana thru the towns of Upata, Guasipati, El Callao, Tumeremo and El Dorado, all with a gold mining history. In El Callao we'll see miners digging for gold in los Molinos underground mine. Later we'll stop in Tumeremo for lunch á la carte. After passing El Dorado and going thru the mining village of km 88 we'll stop briefly at the natural monument "Piedra de la Virgen". The local people say, that the silhouette of a woman can be seen on the rock's surface. From here we make the final leg of 1 day and reach the northern sector of the Gran Sabana at 1400 meters above sea level. Our first night will be at a modest lodge in Rapidos de Kamoiran in double occupancy rooms with private bath and showers. Dinner will be served at the lodge.
Day 7: La Gran Sabana.
After breakfast we'll go to the indigenous village of Liworibo where a 30 minute trip by motorized Curiara (native canoe) will take us to Chinak-Meru, a water fall known as Aponwao with a height of 106 meters, it is the highest in La Gran Sabana. After enjoying the site and taking pictures of the falls we'll walk back to the village, and on the way we'll stop at the Pozo Escondido and Pozo de los Enamorados, two water holes where we'll eat our picnic lunch and take a refreshing bath in the cool water, so bring your swimsuit!. In the afternoon it's back to Rapidos de Kamoiran. Dinner will be served at the lodge restaurant.
Day 8: La Gran Sabana.
After breakfast our trip continues to Santa Elena de Uairen stopping occasionally underway to visit interesting places like Salto Kawi, Salto Kama-Meru, Mirador el Oso (a lookout point from where you can take pictures of the Tepuys), Quebrada Arapan, Quebrada Soroape (stop for picnic lunch). Later we'll stop at the Rio Yuruani and Quebrada el Jaspe, a stream and water falls with a beautiful red jasper floor. At the end the day we'll take a quick jump to the border with Brazil where we can shop for souvenirs. The night will be at the pleasant camp Yakoo where we'll enjoy dinner and the silence of the Sabana. Accommodations will be in double rooms with hot running water. Dinner will be at the lodge restaurant. (
Day 9: La Gran Sabana - Canaima
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport with a flight to Canaima. Arrival to the Canaima Camp. Welcome cocktail. Navigation in Canoa around the lagoon to see the spectacular Golondrina, Wadama and Hacha water falls. After the excursion to the Sapo falls, you will enjoy the 20 minutes’ walk that will take you the base of this amazing waterfall where you will be able to cross beneath the water curtain formed by the waterfall on its way down. Return to the camp. Free time to enjoy a bath in the Canaima lagoons and enjoy its pink beaches. Overnight.
Day 7: Angel Falls Adventure.
Departure to Ratoncito Island where we begin the river excursion through Carrao and the Churun River. Lunch will be served the Indian way, you will enjoy a good kind of meat or chicken cooked and smoked in the middle of the forest by the Indians. After a quick stop at the camp, you will begin the trekking that will take you through the forest and will end at the base of the highest waterfall in the world: the Angel Falls. You will navigate alongside the Auyantepuy, this fantastic and mysterious formation will drag your attention throughout the trip. the mountain changes right before your eyes, taking shapes that will make you understand why is known as the devil’s mountain, ‘cause it disguises taking amazing figures. throughout the trip you will be amazed by nature and its glorious way of putting things together so it seems that some magic hand put rocks on this place, rock piles that seem to be hanging by themselves up on the air, giving you the feeling that they are about to fall. Arrival to Ratoncito Island where you will spend your night. After one hour walk in the jungle you will arrive at the base of the angel falls, once you arrived there the waterfalls will dazzle you in all its glory and you will have free time to take a relaxing bath at the pool that is formed by the water on his way down. Accommodation will be provided at the camp facing the waterfall, giving you a view un compared to anything ever seen.
Day 8: Caracas.
Breakfast. Flight to Caracas via Puerto Ordaz. Connecting flight to Los Roques with a welcome at the landing strip. Transfer to the sailboat. Welcome cocktail. Overnight onboard.
Day 9-12: Los Roques.
Accommodation on the sailboat. Cruising and relax - enjoy the nature of the Los Roques archipelago.
Day 13: Los Roques.
Flight back to Caracas where you will take your connecting flight back home.
